Twins Done in Playoffs - Yankees Win Again

So the Minnesota Twins waltz out of the playoffs again.  One-Two-Three, one-two-three, one-two-three and we are done.  

There was lots of talk around the coffee shop this morning about the collapse.  Some people think we don't have a dominant #1 starter and that our pitching staff is a collection of third and fourth-spot starters.  There may be some truth to it, but I am not buying.

We just didn't hit.  Each game it got worse.  Cuddyer did a nice job of homering in the first game of the series, but nobody else answered the bell, and the further we went in the series the more we pressed and the less we hit.  When I think back to the great Twins teams of the past we had four or five guys who hit twenty or more homeruns during the season.  This year we had Thome hit 25, and I think Delmon Young hit over 20, but that was it.

I am not sure if taking off the last ten games of the season where we lost 8-10 helped us prepare for the playoffs either.

Sad.
